Cádiz CF, known as Yellow Submarine for xxxx, has been around since 1910.
Cádiz CF achieved its first promotion to La Liga,  in the 1976-1977 season. Under the guidance of coach Benito Joanet, they finished in 6th place, securing a spot in the UEFA Cup for the following season. The most successful period came in the early 1980s. During the 1981-1982 season, under the management of Serbian coach Vujadin Boskov, the team finished in 5th place in La Liga and reached the final of the Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup). They lost to Real Madrid in the final but earned a spot in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup for the next season.
In the 1982-1983 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, they managed to reach the quarterfinals, an impressive achievement for the club. Despite their relative success in the early '80s, Cádiz CF was unable to maintain its position in the top division. The team suffered relegation in the 1989-1990 season and spent several years in the second and third tiers of Spanish football.
The club faced financial difficulties in the early 2000s and was even relegated to the fourth tier of Spanish football due to unpaid debts. However, the club managed to recover and began its climb back up the leagues. After a long absence, Cádiz CF secured promotion to La Liga for the 2020-2021 season. Led by manager Álvaro Cervera, they finished in 12th place in their first season back in the top flight, ensuring their survival.  In the 2021-2022 season, they finished in 17th place, just ensuring survival.
