The Australian Open is one of the four major Grand Slam tennis tournaments held annually and is the first of the year - tournament is held annually at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The tournament features men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles, and wheelchair competitions. Do note - The Open Era is the current era of professional tennis. It began in 1968 when the Grand Slam tournaments allowed professional players to compete with amateurs.
  • There have been 55 Title Recognitions with 26 Champions.
  • Novak Djokovic has won the tournament a record 10x. Only one of two players all time to have won 10x majors in one slam (with the other being Rafael Nadal 14x in the French). Roger Federer is second with six titles.
  • A total of 14 players have won the tournament at least twice. 
  • Andy Murray has made it to the finals a total of 5x, all with second place finishes. The person tied for the second most 2nd place finishes is Rafael Nadal with 4. ​
